The Backslider's Cure

Bible Verse=> Luke 15:11-19

The prodigal son was once under his father's roof, fellowshipping with him, day and night. Suddenly, he made a decision [to leave his father's will and to do his own will]. And as a good father, "he gave him whatsoever he would". The prodigal son followed his decision to gratify his fleshy desires in opposition to the thoughts of the father.

Are you like this prodigal son?

How is your fellowship with God like? [Fellowshipping with God entails true worship, studying the Scriptures, prayer, etc.] Is it growing, stagnant or declining? The last two shows a backsliding state. Oh! You're busy? You see, God understands. He understands that you can be busy with normal everyday life AND STILL HAVE A GOOD TIME FOR HIM. Yes, He understands! That's why He has given you the Holy Spirit to HELP you [with everything all together]. He's powerful!

Still the question.

Are you like this prodigal son? What about those fleshy desires? Desire to get mad, watch pornography, masturbate, fornicate, lie, etc. What is your weakness? Do they control you instead of God's Spirit? (Galatians 5:16).

Beware of backsliding, that's the only way you can be cured.

After a while, the prodigal son needed food, just as some need spiritual food [to overcome]. The prodigal son ran to his father who had this food in abundance (Luke 15:17). He understood that his father was wealthy. Dear reader, you need to understand that God has what will make you thrive [spiritually, health-wise, ministerially, etc] in abundance. Run to Him for help today. That's the cure. Trust Him, He will surely restore you as His child, ("for this my SON" Luke 15:24) and strengthen you more.

N. B.: From verse 17, the change only came when he came back to his senses. As the restored sheep, you came back because of the consciousness that you're away. This consciousness is there because of God's love. Do not despise backsliders. Pray for them.

If you have backslided, please, say this prayer:

Oh Lord, thank you for your grace. I am sorry for going outside your will. Please restore me in Jesus' name. Amen.

Please intercede for all backsliders:

God, thank you for your grace. Please make all backsliders conscious of their backsliding state and let them return to you in Jesus' name. Amen.

Thank you very much for your time.

God bless you. Shalom.

Death again?

Death, why would you take Rita?
I expected the loud "lub"
From the heart of this good sister
Who passed out in the bathtub

Lo! I heard no sound
"She's gone"
I heard the doctor say
"Lord! No! She can't die"
I heard my loud thin scream

He spoke,

"She is not dead
But has come to rest
She will rise instead
When I come for the blessed."

1 Thessalonians  4:13, But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.  4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.  4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.  4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.  4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Spiritual Cosmetics: Give me my load

"Elizabeth, what's this?" Her conscience pricked her.
"What? Oh! I can't believe this" she said when what she just did dawned on her.
"This thing has wasted my time" she said, almost crying.

Then the Holy Spirit brought to her remembrance what Kenneth Hagin did to the devil- he kicked him out when he was disturbing him from listening to Jesus. Just as the devil was disturbing her from doing the right thing, thereby wasting her time.

Spiritual Cosmetics: The Man Daniel

Let's review Daniel 6:1-28.)

Daniel was singled out for greatness because of his excellent spirit (v 1-3).

Many sought a way to pull him down in kingdom matters but they couldn't because he was faultless. (Note that real excellence comes with perfection). The only option left was to use the law of God (verses 4-5).

They knew that the king could change his mind because "the king thought to set him over the whole realm (verse 3)" which can only be done out of love. They made the king sign the writing ["with" the law of Medes and Persians] so that they would take the king by his words which was needed for their plot to work perfectly (verse 8). No wonder why they reminded the king about it in verse 15.

Daniel however followed the Spirit of God, leaving people and their vain laws (verse 10).

The seal wasn't enough. They made use of "strong words" too (see verse 13 "...regardeth not thee......") to ensure Daniel's destruction.

Thieves only come to steal, to kill and to destroy anything good (John 10:10).

The Excellent spirit promoted Daniel (Daniel 1:19-20; 2:46-48; 6:3). Also, it made him have enemies. Does it mean that being excellent is a crime?

Good things attract thieves, remember.

Therefore, wishing for a life
without problem is like a curse. It's like saying one won't excel. Instead, one should pray for the grace to overcome

Now, how do we overcome them?

The secret behind it is to continue what made one excel.

Daniel was just good [not yet excellent] when he was taken up in
captivity alongside with other children (see Daniel 1:3-4). But he
gained excellence when he purposed in his heart that he would not
defile himself not minding what others do. How do I know this? (Daniel 1:16-20.)
He excelled because he stood out for what was right.

And he continued in that;
He prayed "as he did aforetime" even when the writing of the king was
against it. He stood out FOR GOD's commandment-- "pray without

But how can one stand out without unshaken faith?

In Daniel 2:15-19, he stood out because of faith. He trusted God for
what was needed to change his story. He didn't stop there, he acted on
it. He told the king that "he would show the king the interpretation"
even before he got the revelation of the dream. He was a man of faith.

And he continued therein;
It was recorded of him that "no manner of hurt was found upon him,
because he believed in his God" (Daniel 6:23b).

Today, nations can amend their laws in honour of God just as it is in
Daniel's story (Daniel 6:25-26). The question is, are you ready to pay
the price?

The price of excellence remains in perfection.

Let's stand out for righteousness always, pray without ceasing; and be
men and women of faith.

May God help us all in Jesus' name. Amen.

Spiritual Cosmetics: The Prayer

Musing on things as the Spirit led her, Damie wanted to make another design for her picture quotes as she got an inspiration, but she couldn't because she was busy washing her clothes. Then she recalled that she haven't written any article.

"I am just clueless and dry" she was beginning to worry.

"You were clueless and dry dear. " the Holy Spirit corrected her. She was wondering why she got that answer, then she remembered that God has all things. Jesus' disciple can't be clueless and dry.

"Oh Lord, my Source of inspiration....", that was the only thing she said, the Holy Spirit finished it up. "....inspire me. teach me. let me act, let me preach. I pray"

"Does that ring a bell?" the Spirit asked. It was after this question that it dawned on her that she just prayed.

"Request granted. The inspiration is found in THE PRAYER". Then He taught her the prayer again and told her to write something from it. And yaay! That's what you're reading!

"What's the message?" she started racking her brain when she was through with her work. She's now with her pen and book.

"Take it to the Lord in prayer" the Spirit replied.

"Oh Lord, please..." she said as she thought that the Spirit instructed her to pray.

"Take it to the Lord in prayer. That's the message" the Spirit replied. "After noticing that you had a problem with writing, you recognised God as your Source [of inspiration] and you surrendered to Him to help you" He explained.
She was shocked.

Hello there, that was what I experienced [today]. Is there anything you are bothered with? Take it to your Source in prayer. He created you, He knew you before you were formed (Jeremiah 1:5). There's nothing too big for God to do, remember, He created the Heaven and earth [with everything in them]
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Prayer is a sign of worship. It's telling God that He's the only Helper you have.

Prayer chases worry, hence it chases pain. No wonder why Joseph Scriven was inspired to sing this hymn-- What a Friend we have in Jesus.

1. What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear;
what a privilege to carry
Ev'rything to God in prayer.
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh, what needless pain we bear-
All because we do not carry
Ev'rything to God in prayer.

2. Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a Friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our ev'ry weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

3. Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour, still our refuge,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer.
In His arms He'll take and shield thee,
Thou wilt find a solace there...

Are you blessed? Thank God for the inspiration and inspire others [through the sharing icon and the comment box]. Tell us in ways this has blessed you.

Thank you. Shalom!

Deal with the cause

Have you lost anything? Please trace its source. Know why you lost it. That's a way to recover it, if recovery is possible.

Doctors don't just prescribe drug(s) based on a symptom. They seek to know what caused the symptom(s), else they would give the wrong drug(s) which might worsen the situation.
Failure to identify the source will only multiply the losses. Losses can come in any form e.g. Break in a personal fellowship with God, bad health, loss of material things, stagnation, etc.

I present to you the story of a lady who went to a camp but didn't keep her luggage rightly. She first lost it to a lady who gave her back after a day with everything still intact. Afterwards, she dropped it somewhere, thinking that she would pick it up later. This thought was in opposition to the instruction given to her by the inner spirit. She disobeyed, hence, she lost it again.
By the time she found it, all her money had gone. Then, she cursed the thief in the name of Jesus.
The story is somehow right? I know. Just learn the lessons.

Men fell because of SIN (Simple Instruction Neglected). We were brought back. We still fall again because we repeat the same mistake. How pathetic!

We read of the mistakes made by people in the Bible, yet we repeat these mistakes. The stories written in the Bible are not just stories, but also great lessons. 1 Corinthians 10:11 says, "Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come."\

The lady in the story above lost her luggage (she fell). Somebody gave her back (she was brought back). But she lost it again.

Now get this; she was given the grace to amend her ways when the inner spirit told her to keep it. She frustrated the grace instead of her to grow in it through obedience. Hence, she lost it. She made another mistake when she didn't know why she was suffering. She even condemned the thief.
Brethren, the chief of thieves is condemned already, likewise his cohorts. They are just the symptoms, showing people that they have not been behaving wisely. You should be more concerned on how/why they pull you down in the first place. After that, behave wisely by following godly instruction. Ask for grace.

P. S.: This post is not for people like Job, but for those who lost something as a result of neglecting simple instruction(s). And you know yourself. It will be more pathetic if you don't change after reading this. Grow in grace, don't frustrate it. His grace is sufficient.

Watchfulness: a prerequisite

Bible Text=>Matthew 25:1-13

God was silent for 400 years. His silence doesn't mean that He won't do His will or what He has written won't come to pass. This is because He honours His word more than His name (Psalm 138:2) and none of His word will go unfulfilled (Matthew 24:35).
He is very committed to His promises (Psalm 89:34)

That Jesus' hasn't returned doesn't mean He won't come, neither was He drunk when He said so as some people presume. He hasn't come back because of His long-suffering and He wants the gospel to be preached to everybody so that there will be no excuse (Matthew 24:14)

In Matthew 24, the disciples of Jesus asked him about the signs of His Second Coming. He supplied the answer and also gave them one of the prerequisites, which He buttressed in Matthew 25.

One of the prerequisites is watchfulness.

Today, I will discuss the parable of the virgins.

The virgins were holy, as only those that are holy can meet the bridegroom. Just like the Christians today, they were given the chance to meet the bridegroom. Some were foolish because they were unprepared (this should point to us that there are fiolish Christians). The other virgins were wise because they took extra oil. Before you could take something extra, you would be watchful and thus take precaution that what you have may not be enough. They were cautious of the coming of the bridegroom and they acted.

The question is: will He meet me prepared [like the wise virgins]?

The reason why "like the wise virgins" is in square brackets is this: it's not as though the foolish ones didn't prepare, but they were not FULLY PREPARED because they were not watchful.

It's just as we have it today. We all prepare as we go to church [for spirit-lifting programmes], we fast and pray, etc. Aren't we just doing these things of the spirit so as to fulfill earthly purpose? Are we doing it as part of the preparation for Jesus' coming?

We often say "Jesus is coming soon", but do we let the the meaning of those words make us act?
The actions include:
*watchfulness: you'll be watchful of what you say, how you act, your motives and thoughts because you don't know the time He'll come. You can only do effectively this through the HOLY GHOST (the oil). NEVER GO WITHOUT HIM LIKE THE FOOLISH VIRGINS.
*evangelism: we have many souls out there but the time is short. You'll use the cautiousness of Jesus coming to reach them.
*spiritual things eg, prayer and fasting: remember, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, we need this so as to end well.

For this write-up to be meaningful, please examine yourself, why do you do spiritual things?

Our affection should be on things above, not on earth (Colossians 3:2). We should do spiritual things so that we'll be counted worthy, then, all other things will be added unto us (Matthew 6:33).

Do not prepare like the foolish virgins. Be watchful by fellowshipping with the spirit always. Pray for the grace to be watchful.

[To be continued]

Spiritual Cosmetics: Costly Mistakes

Costly Mistake
Have you ever been wowed by an individual's speech that you say "Holy Spirit", "This wo(man) is Spirit-filled" ...
The truth is, don't judge a man's spiritual status by what he says because some men know the right thing to do, but refuse to do it? (Matthew 23:3c).
In our Bible text, (1 Sam.16:6-14) Samuel was blinded by Eliab's kingly appearance when he wanted to anoint him. Do you think Eliab would make a good king? Saul would even be better! He wouldn't have done what David did. Maybe Israel would have been forgotten if not for God's leading.
We assume that these gifted men are doers of the word so we make them
hold spiritual offices. This mistake is costly as it would affect the
growth of the church negatively, because how would the followers apply God's word when the leaders cannot. No wonder why the church is growing cold. We appoint by what we see, not by what God says, forgetting that we shouldn't work by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
"...for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7b).

We appoint those who can speak the word but cannot apply it. Of what use is that good message when you are not a doer? It will only bless others and leave one to be a castaway!
(1 Timothy 4:16, 1 Corinthians 9:27).

We shouldn't be blinded by their godly words "...for they say and do not" (Matthew 23:3c). As seen in our text, not all who have the appearance of a king are kings.

Likewise, not all those who appear to be godly are godly. They only have the form. As a result, we should be led by God in everything so as to avoid this costly mistake especially in these last days when people have the form of godliness but deny the power thereof. "Desist from such!" That's what the Bible says.

"For not the hearers [nor the preachers] of the law are just before
God, but the doers of the law shall be justified." (Romans 2:13).

Act the word.

Two Distinct Ways: Which to choose?

"Broad is the way that leads to destruction"

This way is broad because it accommodates anything---loads of sin, little weights! It's pathetic that many walk in this way, even the so-called Christians. They allow "little sins" to take hold of their lives.

On the other hand, the

Spiritual Cosmetics: God wants you back

The people of Judah committed many sins and were not ready to repent just as we have it today ( Text=> Jeremiah 8 verses 4-5). They loved what they ought not to love, as they worshipped the sun, moon, host
of heaven, graven images, etc (verses 2, 19). They made vain God's instructions by violating them. They thought that's the definition of wisdom (verses 8-9). Haven't they read that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom? Wisdom is when we accept God's word [not by mouth but in deed].

Prophets that ought to tell them the mind of God and His judgments told them lies, giving them no rebuke. Now, how would they be ashamed of their wrongs when there is no good councillor? (verses 10-12, Proverbs 11:14). As a result, they were not moved anytime they sinned. Sin was a norm unto them.

Before we cast stones, let's examine ourselves. Are we not repeating these people's mistakes as His people and prophets? It's painful that most so-called Christians and pastors act like these people of old. Even though we don't have any image we are bowing to, we worship our wealth, work, spouse, children, fame, etc. We love these things more than God by placing them higher than Him. Our prophets too are busy giving us diluted word of God. The church is now a place where sinners can sit comfortably and hear sermons filled with physical prosperity (healing, financial breakthroughs, etc) instead of spiritual prosperity which births the former. We no longer rebuke anyone, instead, we speak about them in secret. The Bible says it's shameful! (see Ephesians 5:11-12).

The consequences of these things are (I don't even know the qualifying adjective). Please, check Deuteronomy 28:15-45 for the earthly consequences. If earthly (temporal) consequences are like that,
how much more the one that lasts forever?

The good news is that God is calling us back to Him.

"Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as
white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land" (Isaiah 1:18-19).

Spiritual Cosmetics: Mighty works are calling

Healing cum deliverance,
Forgiveness and likes;
All points to repentance,
The mighty works are calling!

The adulterous woman
Given a second chance
The true meaning of grace
Was commanded by Jesus
To sin no more.

The man who had Legion
Delivered by Jesus
Published His name all about
The mighty works are calling!

It's pathetic that the world today is repeating what the people of Chorazin, Bethsaida and Capernaum did those days, even more! With increased ministers which are used continually by God to visit His people, we have not repented. With the mighty works done in and through us, we still sin. How pathetic! The mighty works are calling!

Apart from the nations at large, what of individual lives? What about you? The works that God is doing in you-  forgiveness, salvation, healing, deliverance, etc--- are calling you to repentance, thanksgiving, continuous fellowship and evangelism.

What does it profit a man if he was delivered from perishing with a disease and still perish on the last day?

Being exalted to Heaven means wallowing in goodness- good health, riches, etc. If one who is being blessed with goodness fail to do God's bidding, he/she will be brought down to hell on the last day.

We see how God destroyed Sodom back then (Genesis 19:15, 24-25). He's telling us in Matthew  11:24 that "it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in the day of judgment than for those who fail to
repent of their sins.

Don't take the mighty works and the goodness of God for granted. Come to Him in prayer, obedience, praises etc. Don't delay His invitation.

He will do more mighty works if you answer His call. The leper wasn't just healed, he was made whole because He gave thanks!

References=> Matthew 11:20-24; Mark 5:19-20; John 5:14, 8:3-11; Luke 17:12-19, .

He will do more mighty works if you answer His call. The leper wasn't
just healed, he was made whole because He gave thanks!

Spiritual Cosmetics: Lessons from the temptations of Jesus.

A close look at the temptation of Jesus makes me wonder how man can
overcome them because any man would cheaply fall for them.

Christ was hungry, in dire need of food. There was an offer, "turn
these stones to bread, it's what you can do because you're the son
of God".

(Bible Text=> Matthew 4:1-11)

The devil is subtle. He [first] came up with what man can fall cheaply
for. And that's what he's still doing to Christians daily!

While He [Jesus] turned water to wine, He didn't turn a stone
to bread. This is because He recognised when "turning of things" is
needed. He was able to achieve this because;

i. He was Spirit-filled: He understood the fact that ANYTHING from the
devil is fake. Of course, it's not a crime to do that, but devil made
it a crime. Devil devised the idea and anything from the devil is a
no-no for Christians. It's dangerous to say yes to devil's proposal no
matter how real it may be. It's specious. Beware! That's why we must
walk in the Spirit as the Spirit admonished us in Galatians 5:16,
"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the
lust of the flesh."

One day, I was faced with two options. Both are correct in some way as
they are what we must use as Christians, but the application was
required. I asked the Spirit to help me, and He answered. He countered
the one I would have picked ordinarily. He helped me to discern the
camouflaged. He taught me why it was wrong [at that point in time]
after I overcame just as the angels ministered to Jesus after He

Jesus turned water to wine because He was instructed by God to do so
but didn't turn stone to bread because it was the devil's order.

ii. He knew God's Word and applied it well: Memorizing the Word of God
will help in overcoming temptations as it will give the boldness to
stand. Reading, studying and meditating are prerequisites for this.
How can one pass an examination without studying? Temptation is the
examination which needs studying and correct application in order to

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not
to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15).

iii. He fasted and prayed: Some things cannot happen until they are
drawn by prayer and fasting. Likewise we might not overcome some
temptations unless we fast and pray. Fasting did not only help Jesus
in overcoming temptations but also helped him in fulfilling destiny.

You need it.
"Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting" (Matthew 17:21).

Spiritual Cosmetics: Jesus Wept

Bible text; John 11:14-15, 20-45.

On the contrary, Jesus didn't weep because of the dead man because He
knew he would rise up again. Jesus wept because of the people's
unbelief. Mary and the Jews believed in Jesus (John 11:32, 37). But
this faith was "incomplete" as absolute faith in God is required. They
knew Him as a healer but not as one who resurrects.

Martha, who had heard him say "I am the resurrection... (John 11:25)"
still argued with Him (John 11:39-40). Even His disciples who had been
with Him portrayed this act (John 11:16). The Jews thought that Jesus
wept because He loved him, that He would miss him; not knowing that He
was weeping because of them. Jesus reacted to their incomplete faith
(synonymous to unbelief) with groanings (see John 11:33, 38).

He finally spoke up when He couldn't take it anymore.

"Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest
believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?" (John 11:40)

It is a pity today that so-called Christians are guilty of this.
Unbelief eats deep into us.

I won't talk about miracles here, but of a life of purity.

We claim to know the devil's strategies but we do not work against it.
That is why some would accept the lies of the devil.

Of what essence is knowledge when we cannot apply it? It breaks my
heart when I hear
Christians say "we cannot be perfect". That's rich coming from the
devil! Please tell me, why do we have the Holy Spirit? Or do you think
He's here just to make you blast in tongues?

God cannot command us to do what is not possible [because nothing is
impossible]. He commands us to be perfect.
"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is
perfect." (Matthew 5:48).

Let's stop being hypocritical. We only use "all things are possible
with God" when it's convenient for us. Why can't we use it in this
case of perfection?

Perfection can be attained when we live a blameless life before God.

Living PERFECTLY shows the glory of God. If only twenty-first century
Christians would believe that living a perfect life is possible, we
would surely see the glory of God working in us [as we attain
perfection] and through us [as signs follow us].

Note: Unbelief is an act of unrighteousness.

Don't grieve the Spirit through your unbelief. Just let Him help you.

Spiritual Cosmetics: Word, Grace and the Spirit

Proper interpretation is vital in reading any book as it gives full understanding of words. In the same vein, interpreting the Bible, a book of mystery, needs the Holy Spirit, He who wrote through the Patriarchs of old, to interpret it and not by what we feel about it "for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life" (1 Corinthians 3:6b, 2 Timothy 3:16).

Spiritual Cosmetics: Apostle Arome Osayi

When I heard that Apostle Arome Osayi would be coming over for The Chosen Generation Conference organised by the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Campus Fellowship, Obafemi Awolowo University's Chapter, I sensed more than a revival in the land.

I packed my Bible and some publicity items and adequately informed my roommates about his coming. I let the gospel of his coming spread within my class and online media was not left out.

Specifically, I would recall a colleague who asked "Who's Apostle Arome Osayi" and then, I looked around. I had heard some messages of his in the past but I did not have them with me. I therefore told him the few details I knew (from the publicity items and announcement in church) and promised him that I would give details about Apostle Arome Osayi later.

If you would wonder why this is coming on a Sunday, I tell you it's the fulfilment of my subsequent search about this man of God. I made use of our varsity's INTECU service and connected to the internet.

That night, I will never forget.

I discovered how little I knew of him and how less I had listened to his messages.

Then I started downloading messages of this wonderful man of God!

The turnout was non-pareil as God had earlier promised as it was a tearing net! The manifestation of God too filled the auditorium!

So, this morning, for our Spiritual Cosmetics Segment, I'll love to have you download Apostle Osayi's messages. You can listen to them after service and it would surely bless you.

Below are links to these messages. Enjoy. God bless you!

Parable of the sower.

Bible Text: Matthew 13:3-9, 18-23.

Daily, we come to have issues with interpretaion and at times,
misconstrue them. However, in relation to the parable in the passage
above, interpretation covers our world today.

The Word of God will always come out to you anywhere and from anyone.
The Word is the seed while the speaker is the sower.
[Vs 19] The question now is; Do you understand the Word?

Without doubt, what you do not understand will have no meaning to you.
The meaning here is the positive and life-changing effects.

The devil is very quick at 'tapping' blessings especially the
unclaimed ones. Another opportunity to claim your blessings lies in
giving your life to Jesus.

We live in a world where ministers of the Word rush sermons and threw
the seeds by the way side because they do not give detailed
explanation, excusing time. Many persons need explanation inherent in
SOUND teaching. (Please, note the use of 'sound' and not 'long').

Sound teaching comes in when the preacher is being led by the Holy
Spirit and not by time.
Dear preacher, be led by the Spirit always, praying that your
listeners/readers should have a deep understanding of what you are

[Vs 20] Another question; Is God's Word grounded in you? Most of us
receive His Word with joy which is because we understand it. But it's
not grounded in us because:

° We do not meditate on the Word, forgetting that we can only have
good success when we meditate on the Word (Joshua 1:8).
° Refusal to pray: Meditation and prayer alon can overcome all odds
(the meaning the Word gives).

[Vs 22] The care of this world has taken the heart of many such that
they don't have time for God any longer. There is care for the world
against our Master's Word in 1 John 2:15, thereby making it choke. Sin
abounds today because we don't let His Word grow (ranging from
individual to the whole world). What is the fate of posterity if we
continue this way?

Understand God's Word; meditate on His Word; pray without ceasing and
have time for God's fellowship (cause He created you for that) and

Dealing with Envy?

By standards in 1 Corinthians 13, I understand that without love, I am nothing even when we have portfolios of preacher, intercessor, singer, diversely gifted etc. A man is nothing without love.

About a month later, another group of evangelists met Bunbie fetching
water from a well outside his house. He responded politely to their
greetings for he was surprised to see Christians that way. He loved
everything about them- they dressed decently (no cleavage-baring
outfit, moderate hairstyles and dresses), they helped him draw water
and even asked if he had other chores.

"Wow! These people are different" he said to himself.

"Thank you very much sisters" He finally broke the silence that ensued
as a result of the work.

"Thank God sir" Kate, the leader of the group replied.

Knowing their mission, he gave them a "what-do-you-want" look out of
hatred for Christianity.

"If you don't mind, can I share the Word of God with you" Kate said,
noticing Bunbie's look.

"Is the Word of God for non-Christians? We have Christians inside, you
can go in" he said pointing to the house.

"Thank you sir. But, the Word is for everybody. We can share it with
you" she replied.

"Okay, go on but don't take much of my time" he replied giving a
'go-ahead' expression.

"Thank you sir" she replied.
Kate rendered a short prayer to God before starting her message. This
prayer opened way for both the preacher and the listeners as she
prayed in the Spirit.

"Before proceeding, may I ask you this question? What is your purpose
on earth?" she asked.

"My purpose?" He asked.
"Well, my purpose is to make money, to make it in life."

"Good! I love that" she remarked. "Do you know that making it in life
depends on God alone?" she paused as she saw the expression on
Bunbie's face.

Guess what! He was intrigued. Anyway, that is the Holy Spirit at work.

"It depends on the one who created the heavens and the earth" she
continued, "How do I know this? 'Cause the one who created all things
will care for His creatures by making them prosperous. That is why He
sent His only Son Jesus Christ to die for you and I so that we can
make it to the peak and even to make it to Paradise"

"But this is only possible if we accept Him as our personal Lord and
Saviour. We must do that now as tomorrow maybe too late, 'cause of the
destruction to come upon the unrepentant..."

"Destruction? Why that?" Bunbie asked.

"Oh! Thank you for that question"
"To answer that, I would love to hear your judgement on this"
"As a parent who labours over a child, how would you feel if the child
rejects you? What would be your reaction" she asked

"I will reject and deal with him or her mercilessly" he replied with a
stern look.

"That's the destruction- rejection and dealing with the unrepentant
mercilessly. We are God's children. He invested in us. Anyone who
rejects Him, His Son and His Word will be rejected and destroyed in
hell forever."

"Hmmm!" Bunbie sighed "Okay. What next?"

"Confess Jesus as your Lord and
Saviour; and invite Him to your heart", Kate replied.
Bunbie confessed his sins, accepted Jesus as his Lord, and he was
converted. He preached the Gospel to his neighbours thereafter.

About 4:30 pm on Saturday. The street was alive with people doing what
they do best. The boys, with their ball and the girls, playing
"luske". The gossips too were at it. The church took a time out to

Bunbie sat at the veranda of the rented "face me I face you" apartment
reading a newspaper.
He was soon interrupted by a trio evangelists of which Eunice was one of them.

"Oh! Here comes the religion of violence" he muttered.

"How may I help you?" he said even before they could utter a word.

"We are here to bring you good tidings..." the leader's statement was
cut abruptly by Bunbie's reaction.

"We are here to bring you good tidings" Bunbie mimicked, "Give this
one that good tidings!" he shouted, pointing at Deaconess Eunice as
her church members would call her.

"See, I don't have your time" he said and left for his room.
