Behind the Mask: Sad faces, Happy Cover.

Today, a sharp news hit me from the web saying Nigeria has been rated the 103rd most Happiest Country in the World according to the

United Nations World Happiness Report 2016 which was released yesterday March 16th. According to Linda Ikeji's Blog, Denmark was rated the First Most Happiest Country in the World while Burundi was rated the least happiest country in the World. Burundi was preceded by Syria, Togo, Afghanistan, Benin, Rwanda, Guinea, Liberia, Tanzania and Madagascar.

Also, of the world’s most populous nations, China came in at No. 83, India at No. 118, the United States at No. 13, Indonesia at No. 79, Brazil at No. 17, Pakistan at No. 92, Nigeria at No. 103, Bangladesh at No. 110, Russia at No. 56, Japan at No. 53 and Mexico at No. 21. The United States rose two spots, from No. 15 in 2015.

Now, let statistics go to sit.

Back in 2012, I remember a presidential speech on a National day where I quoted these words:

"Democracy is a testament to the courage and resilience of Nigerians"

Now, I sit to wonder how well Nigerians have managed the stress, living conditions, political oddity, economic anomie and every unpalatable that has punctuated the life of the citizenry. Yet, a joyful approach have we chosen to attack these issues and come out as 103 of all nations of the world.
Leading experts in fields of psychology, economics, statistics, national survey and other widely read fields have gone through the behaviour of nations and have deduced this position so citing them as authorities may pose no problem. The issue is how well we adduce Nigeria's position to suit present turmoil.

Do not forget that the average man eats almost nothing- thanks to the rise in dollar-naira rates and so the muscles to smile and strength for happiness is practically out of him.
Most possibly, the popularity of the principle of "The inequality of happiness" made Nigeria fall in 103.

My advice to Nigerians is to continue smiling uhn... Even when we all know that behind that happy face, there lie hidden muscles of revenge and anger.
